Question
Is it fairly universal problem of generation gap?

Answer

  • Generation Gap is a big problem today between the elders (parents) and youngsters (children). It creates a psychological as well as an emotional gap. The main responsibility to avoid this lies with the parents who need to understand and guide their children in their formative years.
  • In today’s fast race for development people have no time for their own families. Parents have to know the exposure faced by the younger generation and they should keep an open mind and be flexible enough to understand the needs of the younger generation without just expecting them to blindly follow their footsteps.
  • In the poem the child has grown up with his own understanding of life and his father has played no role in helping him understand the challenges of life so they have drifted apart and now there is no reconciliation between them though they live under the same roof. They may want to share a good rapport but no one is willing to make the move.
