Advantages of hybridization :

Hybridization results in production of vigorous and better adopted varieties.
Disadvantage of hybridization :
$(i)$ It is a tedious, time consuming process which can be done by a plant breeder only.
$(ii)$ Sometimes hybrids produced may be sterile.
