Question
Most leaves have the upper surface more green and shiny. Why?

Answer

This is mainly due to chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is highly sensitive to light. The formation of chlorophyll itself depends on the exposure of the plant to light. As the upper surface of leaves get more sunlight than others, it looks more green and shiny.
