$iii. \ (6.5 \times 10^{-8}) – (5.5 \times 10^{-9})$

To perform subtraction operation, first the numbers are written in such a way that they have the same exponent. Then subtraction of coefficients can be done.
$i. (1.5 \times 10^{-6}) – (5.8 \times 10^{-7})$
$= (1.5 \times 10^{-6}) – (0.58 \times 10^{-6})$
$= (1.5 – 0.58) \times 10^{-6}$
$= 0.92 \times 10^{-6}$
$= 9.2 \times 10^{-7}$
$ii. (9.8 \times 10^{-3}) – (8.8 \times 10^{-3})$
$= (9.8 – 8.8) \times 10^{-3}$
$= 1.0 \times 10^{-3}$
$iii. (6.5 \times 10^{-8}) – (5.0 \times 10^{-9})$
$= (6.5 \times 10^{-8}) – (0.50 \times 10^{-8})$
$= (6.5 – 0.50) \times 10^{-8}$
$= 6.0 \times 10^{-8}$
