$= (-8)^2 - 4.17.1$
$= 64 - 68$
$= -4$
From $(A)$
$\text{x}=\frac{-(-8)\pm\sqrt{-4}}{2.17}$
$=\frac{8\pm2\text{i}}{34}$
$=\frac{4\pm\text{i}}{17}$
$\therefore\text{x}=\frac{4}{17}+\frac{\text{i}}{17},\frac{4}{17}-=\frac{\text{i}}{17}$
