Question
Simplify the following algebraic expressions by removing grouping symbols: $a - [2b - {3a - (2b - 3c)}]$
✓
Answer
First we have to remove the small brackets, or parentheses, $()$, then the curly brackets, ${}$, and then the square brackets, $[]$.
Therefore, we have $a - [2b - {3a - (2b - 3c)}]$
$= a - [2b - {3a - 2b + 3c}] $
$= a - [2b - 3a + 2b - 3c]$
$ = a - [4b - 3a - 3c] $
$= a - 4b + 3a + 3c $
$= 4a - 4b + 3c$
