5x – 3 < 7
Adding 3 both side we get,
$\Rightarrow$ 5x – 3 + 3 < 7 + 3
$\Rightarrow$ 5x < 10
Dividing both sides by 5 we get,
$\Rightarrow$ $\frac{5 x}{5}<\frac{10}{5}$
$\Rightarrow$ x < 2
When x is a real number,
Solution set = (-$\infty$, 2)
