Solve the following equation: $2x^2 - 3x - 9=0$

Answer

$2 x^2-3 x-9=0 $
$x^2-\frac{3}{2} x-\frac{9}{2}=0 $
$ x^2-3 x+\frac{3}{2} x-\frac{9}{2}=0$
$x(x-3)+\frac{3}{2}(x-3)=0 $
$(x-3)\left(x+\frac{3}{2}\right)=0$
$(x-3)=0,\left(x+\frac{3}{2}\right)=0 $
$x=3, x=-\frac{3}{2}$
