Question
Solve the following equation : $3 \frac{2}{5}-y=2 \frac{1}{2}$

Answer

$3 \frac{2}{5}-y=2 \frac{1}{2}$
$\Rightarrow 3 \frac{2}{5}- y -3 \frac{2}{5}$
$=2 \frac{1}{2}-3 \frac{2}{5}..($subtracting $3 \frac{2}{5}$ from both sides$)$
$\Rightarrow-y=\frac{5}{2}-\frac{17}{5}$
$\Rightarrow \frac{25-34}{10}=\frac{-9}{10}$
$\Rightarrow y=\frac{9}{10}$
