Question
Solve the following equation using the formula
$x^2-6 x=27$

Answer

$x^2-6 x=27$
$\Rightarrow x^2-6 x-27=0$
Here a= 1, b= -6 and c = -27
Then $x=\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{(-6)^2-4(1)(-27)}}{2(1)}$
$=\frac{6 \mp 12}{2}=\frac{6+12}{2}$ and $\frac{6-12}{2}=9$ and -3
