Adding 5 to both sides

Check:
$\text{L.H.S}=3\text{x}-5$
$=3\text{x}\frac{5}{3}-5$
$=5-5$
$=0$
$=\text{R.H.S}$
Hence $\text{ x}=\frac{5}{3}$
Adding 5 to both sides
$3\text{x}-5+5=0+5$
$\Rightarrow3\text{x}=5$
$\Rightarrow\text{x}=\frac{5}{3}$
Check:
$\text{L.H.S}=3\text{x}-5$
$=3\text{x}\frac{5}{3}-5$
$=5-5$
$=0$
$=\text{R.H.S}$
Hence $\text{ x}=\frac{5}{3}$
