Question
Solve the following quadratic equation.
5m2 + 2m + 1 = 0

Answer

$\begin{array}{l}
5 m^2+2 m+1=0 \text { compare with } a x^2+b x+c=0 \\
\Rightarrow a=5, b=2 \text { and } c=1 \\
\therefore b^2-4 a c=2^2-4(5)(1) \\
=4-20 \\
=-16
\end{array}$
Hence, roots are not real.
