Question
Solve the following simultaneous equations $:2x + y = -2 ; 3x – y = 7$

Answer

$ 2 x+y=-2$
$3 x-y=7$
Adding (I) and (II)
$5 x=5$
$\Rightarrow x=1 $
Putting the value of $x$ in (I)
$ 2 \times 1+y=-2$
$\Rightarrow 2+y=-2$
$\Rightarrow y=-4 $
