Solve the inequality 4x + 3 < 5x + 7 for real x.

Answer

Here 4x + 3 < 5x +7, 4x - 5x < 7 - 3
$ \Rightarrow - x < 4$
Dividing both sides by -1, we have
$\frac{{ - x}}{{ - 1}} > \frac{4}{{ - 1}}$$ \Rightarrow x > - 4$
Thus the solution set is $( - 4,\infty )$
