Question
Solve $x^2 – 4x – 12 =0$; when $x \in I$
✓
Answer
$x^2-4 x-12=0$
$\Rightarrow x^2-6 x+2 x-12=0$
$ \Rightarrow x(x-6)+2(x-6)=0 $
$ \Rightarrow ( x -6)( x +2)=0$
then $x = 6$ and $x = -2$
Since $x \in I$ then $x =6$ and $-2$
