$x+\frac{4}{x}=-4$
$\Rightarrow \frac{x^2-4}{x}=-4 $
$ \Rightarrow x^2+4=-4 x $
$\Rightarrow x^2+4 x+4=0 $
$ \Rightarrow(x+2)^2=0 $
$ \Rightarrow(x+2)=0 $
$ \Rightarrow x=-2$
