Two characteristics - of skewed distribution are : $(1)$ The values of mean, median are not equal in it and $(2)$ both quartiles $Q_1$ and $Q_3$ are not equidistant form the median i.e., $\left(Q_3-M\right) \neq\left(M-Q_1\right)$.
