Question
State any two postulates of Bohr's theory of hydrogen atom.

Answer

Bohr’s postulates
(1) Electrons revolve in only those orbits for which the angular momentum is an integral multiple of \(\frac{h}{2 \pi}\).
\(l=m \vee r=\frac{n h}{2 \pi}\)

(2) When electrons jump from higher orbit to lower orbit they radiate energy in the form of \(h \vee\)
where \(h\) is the Planck's constant and \(v\) is frequency \(E_2-E_1= hv\)
Energy of ground state
\(E=-13.6 eV\)

A homogeneous (uniform) rod $X Y$ of length $L$ and mass $M$ is pivoted at the centre $C$ such that it can rotate freely in a vertical plane. Initially, the rod is horizontal. A blob of wax of the same mass $M$ as that of the rod falls vertically with speed $V$ and sticks to the rod midway between points $\mathrm{C}$ and $\mathrm{Y}$. As a result, the rod rotates with angular speed $\omega$. What will be the angular speed in terms of $\mathrm{V}$ and $\mathrm{L}$ ?
