Question
State Bohr's second postulate for the atomic model. Express it in its mathematical form.

Answer

Bohr's second postulate:
The radius of the orbit of an electron can only take certain fixed values such that the angular momentum of the electron in these orbits is an integral multiple of $\frac{h}{2 \pi}$, h being Planck's constant.
Mathematical form: $m_e r_n v_n=\frac{n h}{2 \pi}$
where, $m_e=$ mass of electron, $r_n=$ radius of $n^{\text {th }}$ Bohr's orbit, $v _{ n }=$ linear velocity of electron in $n ^{\text {th }}$ orbit, $n =$ principal quantum number.
