Question
State the characteristics of an image formed by a concave lens.
✓
Answer
The image formed by a concave lens is always virtual, erect and smaller than the object. It is on the same side of the lens as the object. Generally, it is formed between the optical centre of the lens and the principal focus $F_1$. If the object is at infinity, the image is a point image formed at $F_1$.
