On the basis of function, there are three types of nerves :
(1) Sensory Nerves : Such nerves which carry nerve impulses from sensory organs to the brain are called sensory nerves.
(2) Motor Nerves: Those nerves which carry the nerve impulse from the brain or spinal cord to the effector organs are called driver or motor nerves.
(3) Mixed Nerves: Those nerves which function as both sensory and motor are called mixed nerves.
