To strive for an ideal form of government is mere a utopia. No form of government or system is perfect, one can only work for better governance. Democratic form of government has been questioned on various fronts that it leads to instability, it is about competition and power, there are conflicting interests.

1. Democracy establishes equality both politically, socially and economically formally or in principle there is a lot that needs to done in reality where people lack still economic and social equality and continue to face discrimination.
2. Majority of the population continue to live in a condition of abject poverty struggling to manage even there basic necessities of life. It fails to satisfy most of the needs of the people.
3. Democracies track record with regard to economic development has not been very impressive. It is believed political instability, delays in decision making along with factors like population growth, poverty leads to economic underdevelopment.
4. Corruption, red tapism , exploitation of social issues raises serious misgivings about the principles of democracy.
5. However, one cannot strive and long for perfection and ideal system.
6. In comparison to alternate forms of government, democracy is undoubtedly better and preferred form of government.
