Using tables evaluate the following : $4 \cot 45^{\circ}-\sec 260^{\circ}+\sin 30^{\circ}$

Answer

We know that,
$\cot 45^{\circ}=1, \sec 60^{\circ}=2, \sin 30^{\circ}=1 / 2$
$4 \cot 45^{\circ}-\sec ^2 60^{\circ}+\sin 30^{\circ}$
$=4(1)-(2)^2+\frac{1}{2}$
$=4-4+\frac{1}{2}=\frac{1}{2} $
