Due to excessive deficiency of soil water, water becomes a limiting factor and not only affects the rate of photosynthesis but the entire plant.
1. Stomata get closed due to lack of water.
2. Availability of CO2 decreases.
3. Along with this the leaves wither which reduces the leaf arca.
4. Metabolic activities also reduce.
