What are the aims of plant conservation?

(i) To maintain essential ecological processes and life supporting systems-air, water and soil.
(ii) To preserve the diversity of species or range of genetic material found in the world's organisms.
(iii) To ensure a continuous use of species and ecosystems which support rural communities and major industries.
