  1. Megaliths were big stone boulders arranged carefully by people, to mark burial sites in North-west and Deccan.
  2. Megaliths were seen both on the surface and quite often underground.
  3. All these burials had similar attributes which included digging pits in the Earth, transporting stones, breaking boulders, placing stones in position, finding suitable stones, shaping the stones and burying the dead.
  4. Generally, the dead were buried with distinctive pots, known as Black and Red Ware.
