Mangrove (Tidal) Forests develop in the brackish (saline) water of the sea. These are located in West Bengal, Gujarat and shores of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The ‘Sunderban’ in the delta region of Ganga is a mangrove (tidal) forest. The Sundari trees are found here. The Mangrove Forests are found on a small scale in the marshy region of coastal Gujarat. Cher trees are also found here. Local people use its wood as firewood.
