  1. Operation plan is a blue print prepared right in advance of actual operations involved in the firm.
  2. It is a system whereby there is achieved a smooth and coordinated flow of work within the enterprise.
  3. It involves planning and control of all the productive operations in all the stages of manufacture.
  4. Organizes for the movement of material, performance of machines and operations of labour, however sub-divided into a defined direction, coordinating for the desired manufacturing results. Where the production plan aims at "Plan your work", then operations plan ensures "work your plan". It is actually a blue print prepared right in advance of actual operations.
