Answer

Mode is the value which occurs most frequently in a series.Merits of Mode:
  1. It is generally used to describe the qualitative data.
  2. It can be easily computed graphically.
  3. In case of 'open-ended distribution', it can be easily computed.
Demerits of Mode:
  1. It is not capable of further algebraic treatment.
  2. Its calculation involves cumbersome procedure of grouping the data.
  3. It is not based on all the observations/ items of a series.
  4. Its value is indeterminate, especially in case of bi-modal and multi-modal distributions.
