Significance of photoperiodism:
Photoperiodism determines the season in which a particular plant shall come to flower.
A plant can be made to flower throughout the year under green house conditions if a favourable photoperiod is being provided to it
Vernalisation: Vernalisation is a process of hastening flowering by a previous cold treatment.
Significance of vernalisation:
It can help in shortening the juvenile or vegetative period of plants and bring about early flowering.
It increases yield and resistance to cold and diseases.
