What happens if tapetum from immature anther is removed?

Tapetum is the innermost layer of anther wall. These cells have viscous protoplasm with bigger and distinct nucleus. It provides nutrition to developing pollen grains. If tapetum is reduced before development of pollen grains in anther pollen grains become sterility.
