Amniocentesis is a prenatal abnormalities and fetal infections. In this procedure a sample of amniotic fluid, surrounding the developing embryo is removed for testing.
There is statutory ban on this amniocentesis because of its misuse to determine sex of the foetus which resulted in several female foeticides. This disturbed the male-female ratio that can have negative impact on society.
