BT Cotton : Bt cotton is the cultivative of pest resistant crops that enables less use of chemical pesticides. Bt is a type of biotoxin which is produced by a bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis. Bt toxin gene is cloned in bacteria and expressed in plants. It provides resistance in plants for insects and pests. It reduces the use of insecticide. In this way biopesticides or bioinsecticides are formed. Bt cotton is such an example.
