Replication of DNA takes place in it. 3. It lasts for 6-8 hours. $G_{2}$ Phase 1. This is also called pre-mitotic interval period stage. 2. All three types of RNA and protein are synthesised. Essential proteins in spindle fibres are also produced in this stage. 3. It lasts for 2-5 years.
