The large water mass on the surface of the earth having a large area and much depth is called an 'Ocean'.
There are four oceans on the earth. These are: (1) Pacific. (2) Atlantic. (3) Indian and ( 4 ) Arctic. All these four oceans are connected to one another. These are very wide and deep. In the Pacific ocean, there are valleys (trenches) which are about 10 to 11 kilometres deep.
