Cultural relativism: The view that patterns of understanding and behaviour found in different cultures are as good as each other. One of the implications of this view is that it is impossible to judge the superiority of a particular set of values outside the specific cultural context in which they are set. Likewise, judgments of normality or abnormality depend very much on the cultural experiences and biases of the person doing the judging.
