Direct competition is when the competitors of the competition are in close contact with each other and are physically close. Competitors are unfamiliar with each other in indirect competition. Yet they try to achieve the goal before each other. E.g. there is a competition to bring first number in a class of the school. While the competition to get first place in the board examination is an indirect competition.
