Recruitment refers to the process of finding possible candidates for a job. It can be defined as the process of motivating and encouraging people to come and apply for a job in an organization.
Selection is the process of identifying and choosing the best person out of a number of prospective candidates for a job.
Recruitment is a positive process as it invites application from different candidates. Whereas selection is a negative process as it eliminates candidates at every stage which don’t fulfill the requirements of job. Recruitment helps in creating a pool of prospective workforce whereas selection helps in finding the best out of them.
