Question
What is plaque ? How is it formed ?

Answer

Plaque is a sticky film of food, saliva and bacteria formed over teeth. It is formed when we don’t brush our teeth properly and food particles are left on the teeth. Bacteria that live in the mouth act on them and produce acids. These acids combine with food particles and saliva to form a sticky hard substance called plaque over teeth.
