Question
What is sewage? In which way can sewage be harmful to us?

Answer

The municipal waste-water is called sewage. Sewage is harmful to us and to other living beings. It contains large amounts of organic matter and microbes that can be pathogenic. The untreated sewage which is discharged directly into rivers, will pollute it and will increase water borne diseases. The river pollution adversely effect the aquatic life. This will directly or indirectly affect us physically as well as economically because a large number of our population depend on aquatic animals for food and for income.
