What is the difference between a pure substance and a mixture? Give one example in each case.

Pure substance: Matter that has the same composition and properties throughout is called a substance. Eg: Pure water is a pure substance. It consist of only water molecules. Mixture: It is the combination of two or more pure substances where each substance retains its own identity. Eg: Alcohol-water mixture, both co-exist together.
