Water pollution means contamination of water which occurs due to:
  1. Throwing industrial waste in the rivers.
  2. Industrial hot water drained in the rivers.
  3. Draining used domestic water in the rivers.
  4. Leakage of crude oil in the ocean.
  5. Water pollution affects surface as well as ground water which may lead to typhoid fever, hepatitis, cholera, diarrhoea etc.
