What number should be added to $-1$ so as to get $\frac{5}{7}?$

Answer

Sum of two numbers $=\frac{5}{7}$ One number = $-1$
$\therefore$ Second number $=\frac{5}{7}-(-1)$
$=\frac{5}{7}+\frac{1}{1}$
$=\frac{5+7}{7}$
$=\frac{12}{7}$
$\therefore$ Second number $=\frac{12}{7}$
