→ Settlements emerged around the temples.
→ Land grants were given to temple by kings and others. The produce of such land went for the livelihood of priests, garland makers, cooks, sweepers, musicians,dancers, etc.
→ Temples were not only places of worship but also the hub of economic, social and cultural life as well.
→ Temples were centres of craft production. Craftsmen used to make bronze image of deities and devotees.
