  1. In the rest of the cases the dominance of one party was ensured by compromising democracy. Until a few years ago, Mexico was effectively a one-party dominant states. Elections were based on malpractices, dominated by PRI.
  2. What distinguished the dominance of the Congress party in India was it happened under democratic conditions.
  3. Many parties contested elections in conditions of free and fair elections and yet the Congress managed to win election after election.
