Question
When does the rat learn stimulus discrimination in operant conditioning?
✓
Answer
In operant learning, the rat is taught to discriminate between the presence and absence of light. In the presence of light, if the rat presses the bar (lever), it gets food. But in the absence of light, it does not get food. So after some trials, the rat learns to discriminate about the presence or absence of the light. This process is, called stimulus discrimination.
