According to the Indian Constitution those people who have faced caste-based exploitation/ injustices are listed in a separate schedule under Article $341$.
This list includes people belonging only to the Hindu and Sikh community in which untouchability existed.
If a person included in the list converts to any other religion then all the benefits given to him/ her on the basis of his being a Scheduled Caste are withdrawn.
The constitution has also prepared a schedule of the people who live mostly in forest and mountainous region and lack social and economic resources. They are poor, illiterate and have their own culture.
They are included in the schedule of Article $342$ as Scheduled Tribes.
Even if they convert they continue to enjoy their benefits.
The President of India has finalised and declared the list of $SC/ST$ under Articles $341$ and $342.$
