The major functionaries of our country are:
The President who is the head of the state and is the highest formal authority in the country.
The Prime Minister who is the head of the government and one who actually exercises all the government powers. He takes most of the decisions in the cabinet meetings.
The Parliament which consists of two Houses-Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The Prime Minister must have the support of a majority of the Lok Sabha members.
