Why are adolescents especially advised not to smoke? How does smoking affect the functioning of the body?

Adolescents are advised not to smoke for the following reasons:
  1. Smoking paves way for hard drugs.
  2. Smoking is associated with increased incidences of cancers of lung, throat and bronchitis and emphysema, smoking also increases carbon monoxide content in blood and reduces the concentration of haem-bound oxygen.
