Many foreign companies come to India for cheap labour. The wages that these companies pay to workers of other countries like USA, are higher than the wages they have to pay to workers in poorer countries like India.
These companies can get longer hours of work for lower pay, and the additional expenses for workers such as for housing facilities, are also fewer. These companies also often ignore safety in workplaces, so they can save costs and earn higher profits.
An example these companies is the Union Carbide (UC), an American company that had set up a plant in Bhopal in which it produced pesticides.
The UC plant included lower working conditions and lower safety measures for cost cutting.
